Full-Time Equivalent:
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday to Friday, First Shift, No Weekends or Holidays
Position Overview:
Oversees the daily functions of the pharmacy technician team at the designated site. Serves as a primary resource for technicians, offering support and direction on technical and operational matters. Additionally, assists the pharmacist with medication order processing and drug therapy monitoring. Responsibilities may include procuring, measuring, compounding, counting, and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision. Adheres to the guidelines set forth by the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of three years of experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Educational Background:
Graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
Training Preferences:
Leadership training is desirable.
Essential Skills:
Exceptional customer service abilities. Proven capacity to communicate effectively with a diverse audience. Strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational and follow-up skills. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Familiarity with various computer systems and applications.
Licensure Requirements:
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by the hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of employment. Staff hired into this role prior to a specified date must have applied for Wisconsin registration by that date and have until a specified date to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's exam (PTCE) or the National Health Career Association's exam (ExCPT) is required within six months of hire.
