Job Overview

As a Hydrovac Technician and Labor Support, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various operational tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Hydrovac Operator: Collaborate closely with the operator to ensure efficient operations.
  • Equipment Management: Aid in the loading and unloading of necessary equipment, materials, and supplies for daily tasks.
  • Leadership Assistance: Provide support to the Foreman and Supervisor in all assigned duties.
  • Safe Equipment Operation: Operate tools such as tamps, jackhammers, core drills, and concrete saws safely and effectively.
  • Utility Exposure: Perform hand digging with shovels, picks, and digging bars to uncover utilities and access underground structures.
  • Construction Tasks: Install conduits and cables in trenches, splice conduit sections, and place anchors and vaults as directed.
  • Site Restoration: Restore the worksite upon completion of tasks, including refilling trenches and tamping soil.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain all assigned company vehicles and equipment.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned in line with the job description.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with mini excavators and safe digging practices around existing utilities is essential.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs, and to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Regular attendance is expected.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, with per diem provided in addition to regular compensation.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • Background checks will be conducted for all applicants.
