Position Summary:
The Scientist II, Production will engage in various manufacturing processes related to the production of inorganic products. Responsibilities encompass the formulation, handling, and packaging of reference solutions in accordance with established operating procedures. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual capable of managing multiple tasks associated with manufacturing while strictly adhering to safety protocols and high-quality operational standards. A solid understanding of Analytical Chemistry is essential. Additional responsibilities include quality control analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. This role also necessitates hands-on laboratory work, troubleshooting of instruments, and resolution of complex spectroscopic challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the production of inorganic chemical products utilizing chemistry principles.
- Manage inventory, including organization, weighing, and updating laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Comply with safety, quality, and operational policies to meet regulatory and internal standards.
- Ensure smooth material flow to support production schedules through effective inventory management.
- Communicate any deviations from established schedules to relevant internal and external parties.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product quality and adherence to delivery timelines.
- Troubleshoot production challenges by liaising with Production and Quality Lab Supervisors.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives across departments to align with corporate strategies.
- Operate various analytical instruments including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, GC, and KF.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, GC, and/or KF instrumentation is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Up to 5 years of laboratory experience, preferably in inorganic chemistry.
- Proficiency in instrumental analysis and data interpretation.
- Experience with laboratory glassware, supplies, and handling concentrated acids.
- Familiarity with density meters, pH meters, and titration methods is advantageous.
- Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of general chemistry calculations.
- Self-motivated with the ability to analyze, organize, plan, prioritize tasks, and achieve results in a process-oriented environment.
- Ability to develop actionable plans to support organizational goals.
- Quick learner with the capacity to adapt and create procedures efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and email communication.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and process control.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and adaptability in a dynamic organizational setting.
