Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance and research for various entities, working closely with external tax consultants. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing federal, state, and local tax returns, as well as sales tax submissions and tangible personal property returns.
  • Reviewing beverage tax submissions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Forming new entities and registering new business entities with states.
  • Reviewing business practices by entity and state for best practices and tax exposure.
  • Preparing annual governance documents for compliance.
  • Preparing quarterly tax estimates and Unicap studies as needed.
  • Drafting and preparing new LLC agreements.
  • Maintaining Flight Tax system and procuring proper documentation for aircraft business use.
  • Preparing fringe benefit calculations and assisting in proper classification of club dues.
  • Responding to tax notices and assisting with annual financial audits.
  • Reviewing charitable contribution classifications and assisting with classification of shareholder expenses at various properties.
  • Updating ownership flowcharts as necessary.
  • Working on asset sale reconciliations between tax and book.
  • Assisting in reviewing purchase price allocations and property purchase statements.
  • Properly classifying property purchases under HUD.
  • Preparing and distributing trust accountings.
  • Updating shareholder basis schedules.
  • Collaborating with external accountants to ensure timely preparation of audit reports and tax returns.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a tax accountant.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Extensive experience with pass-through entities (partnerships and S-Corps).
Working Conditions

This role will be based in a normal office environment with a partial work-from-home option.
