Job Overview

Position: Senior Accountant / Accounts Receivable Expert

Role Summary: The Senior Accountant will assist the financial controller in executing month-end closures, generating financial reports, and managing tax submissions. This role encompasses all aspects of Accounts Receivable (AR), including accurate coding and recording of expenses, reconciling customer accounts, and resolving discrepancies to ensure the prompt processing of all AR transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the integrity and completeness of financial statements and supporting ledgers in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for effective reporting and analysis.
  • Accurately close financial records monthly according to a set schedule, ensuring deadlines are met and information is precise.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for the monthly close in a timely manner.
  • Submit payment applications to contractors to facilitate timely payments.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Team to confirm final billing on project orders.
  • Ensure daily completion of billing processes.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and provide insights to management.
  • Work with the management team to automate billing functions where feasible.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive company information.
  • Compile, prepare, and reconcile Sales Tax using Avalara.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry (including NTOs, payment applications, AIA forms) is preferred.
  • Expertise in inventory management, including control and cycle counts.
  • Experience in customer account research is preferred.
  • A positive and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong listening skills to address customer concerns and coordinate internally.
  • A desire to grow within the team and engage in a continuous learning environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with annual audits is preferred.
  • Competence in account reconciliations and month-end closing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
