About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Lab-Path Surgical Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as a Technical Specialist in Electron Microscopy. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to manage the daily technical and administrative functions of the electron microscopy laboratory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing representative samples for analysis using ultra-microtomes and operating Transmission Electron Microscopes. They will work closely with renal pathologists and neuropathologists to identify areas of interest for pathologic examination.

Key Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cellular and intracellular structures of various organ systems; ability to evaluate ultrastructures within samples at high magnification and capture diagnostic digital images.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to oversee and resolve test system problems; develop new assays through to validation; ensure enrollment in Proficiency Testing programs.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year.
