Job Description
As a Rail Vehicle Electronics Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing rail vehicle electronic systems, including printed circuit boards and subsystems. You will work closely with our engineering department to develop and implement electrical and electronic projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair rail vehicle electronic systems, including printed circuit boards and subsystems.
- Provide technical support to all rail locations and assist the engineering department with electrical and electronic projects.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate analog, digital, and microprocessor-controlled printed circuit boards down to component level.
- Interpret electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics.
- Remove and insert semiconductor devices using soldering and de-soldering equipment.
- Conduct diagnostic tests using complex electronic measuring instruments.
- Operate computer-controlled Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to test and troubleshoot printed circuit boards.
- Design and fabricate diagnostic test equipment for printed circuit boards.
- Perform acceptance inspections on new printed circuit board test equipment.
- Maintain and repair automatic test equipment, test fixtures, power supplies, meters, and other test equipment.
- Assist Operations Managers, Engineering Department, and vendor representatives with the installation, development, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new and existing rail equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of electronic technical school, an associate degree in electronics, or military electronics-technical training. You must also possess a valid driver's license and have good hand and eye dexterity to work with small electronic components.
