Sustainable Talent is partnering with a leading global company in clinical diagnostics, environmental testing, and contract research organization services to fill this position.

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $26-30 per hour based on experience.

About the Role
  • This position is located in Philadelphia, PA, and is a direct hire opportunity.
  • We are seeking technologists with 2-6 years of experience in professional testing settings, preferably with HLA testing experience.

Laboratory Technologist responsibilities include:

  • Following established procedures and performing tests within laboratory specialties.
  • Calculating test results when necessary.
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory analyzers or equipment.
  • Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions and notifying management personnel when needed.
  • Preparing reagents or media from prescribed procedures.
  • Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria.
  • Conducting quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products.
  • Determining performance specifications for new methods.
  • Verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers.
  • Monitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programs.
  • Monitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations.
  • Utilizing laboratory information systems to accurately report patient results.
  • Writing laboratory procedures conforming to standardized formats.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of medical technology principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques.
  • Understanding of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology.
  • Able to instruct subordinate technologists in areas of medical laboratory testing.
  • Ability to perform tasks according to prescribed procedures and make accurate observations and records of test results.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical thinking and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
