Job SummaryThe Physical Therapy Technician plays a vital role in the success of our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring patients receive the necessary support to reach their recovery objectives and improve their well-being.
Responsibilities- Assist in providing a high-quality treatment experience, focusing on welcoming and comforting patients to prepare them for physical therapy.
- Display excellent customer service skills and provide encouragement when appropriate.
- Follow the plan of care established for the patient by the therapist.
- Assist therapists with non-clinical tasks and support patients in achieving their therapy goals.
- Educate patients on equipment usage, ensuring safe and correct application.
- Assist patients with light exercises and strengthening techniques.
- Apply therapeutic modalities, such as heat/ice packs and electrical stimulation, as needed.
- Provide assistance with patient mobility, using proper techniques to ensure safety.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, physicians, staff members, and other stakeholders, including follow-ups as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with patients and colleagues.
- Ensure treatment areas are clean, organized, and sanitized after each use.
- Comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Monitor and record patient progress, reporting any changes to the Physical Therapist.
- No specific education or experience is required.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Pursuing a physical therapist or other healthcare degree is ideal.
