As a Plant Operator at Vulcan Materials Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our concrete plants. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operating plant equipment to regulate the flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins.
  • Controlling stockpile inventory of materials to ensure optimal production levels.
  • Performing daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment, documenting items in need of repair or service.
  • Monitoring and reviewing plant equipment systems to ensure continuous flow of materials and maintain certified products.
  • Removing clogged materials when applicable.
  • Assisting plant management with record keeping and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance.
  • Reading and writing delivery tickets to determine the mix design called for each load.
  • Issuing delivery tickets to customers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry.
  • A basic knowledge of the concrete, cement, or construction industry.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
