We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the City of San Diego, CA. As a key member of our water treatment team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our pure water facilities, ensuring the highest quality of water for our community.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain water treatment processes and equipment to ensure optimal water quality.
- Monitor and adjust treatment processes to meet regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular sampling and testing to ensure water quality meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of water treatment processes and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the water treatment plant.
- Bachelor's degree in Water/Wastewater Technology or a related field.
- Valid Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's Certificate or Grade T3 Water Treatment Operator's Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board.
- Valid California Class C Driver License.
- Experience working with advanced water treatment processes and equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Advance Water Treatment Operator Certificate (AWT3) issued by the California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association (CA-NV AWWA)/California Water Environment Association (CWEA).
- Experience working with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Experience with Water/Wastewater Information Management Systems (WIMS) and Enterprise Resource Programs (ERP) such as SAP for asset management.
