Overview:
The Animal Care Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean, efficient, and healthy environment for the animals under our care.
Maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, including the kennel area, runs, grooming spaces, and outdoor grounds.
Feeding hospitalized animals and boarders.
Monitoring and documenting vital information regarding the animals' health, behavior, and habits (elimination, eating, etc.).
Walking animals three times daily.
Alerting the Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician/Assistant to any unusual medical or behavioral issues.
Performing grooming tasks such as baths, nail trims, and sanitary clips.
Managing laundry throughout the day and keeping the laundry area organized.
Assisting the Veterinarian and Veterinary Assistant with animal restraint and treatment.
Overseeing and maintaining kennel inventory, including food, cleaning supplies, and laundry items.
Carrying out additional duties as assigned to support the Veterinarian, Receptionist, and Veterinary Technicians/Assistants in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and high-quality service to clients.
Responsibilities / Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
A flexible schedule is required, including some weekend and holiday shifts.
Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations are essential.
The candidate must possess the physical and mental capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Ability to lift over 50 lbs is necessary.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
