About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our Community Medicine team at the ASPCA. As a Veterinarian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to animals in need, while also educating and supporting pet owners to make informed decisions about their pets' health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preventive and basic care to patients, including physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and discharge information.
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations on all surgical candidates.
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgical procedures at our stationary clinic or on our mobile spay/neuter clinics.
  • Diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications.
  • Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, our staff, and for our clients by using low-stress handling techniques.
  • Triage and refer cases that do not fall within CM's parameters of care as appropriate.
  • Perform humane euthanasia in accordance with ASPCA policy and CM protocols.

Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
  • Current California State veterinary license.
  • Fear Free Veterinary certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, etc.) strongly preferred.
