Veterinarian - Community Medicine

The ASPCA Community Medicine team is seeking a skilled Veterinarian to provide expert care to animals in underserved communities of Los Angeles. As a Relief Veterinarian, you will be part of a dynamic team that brings quality services directly to those who need them most.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients in underserved areas of Los Angeles.
- Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day, including physical examination, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and delivery.
- Perform pre-surgery physical examinations on all surgical candidates.
- Diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications.
- Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, our staff, and for our clients by using low-stress handling techniques.
- Triage and refer cases that do not fall within CM parameters of care as appropriate.
- Perform humane euthanasia in accordance with ASPCA policy and protocols.
- Communicate with all clients in a non-judgmental, effective, and professional manner.
- Counsel owners about end-of-life and other sensitive medical concerns.
- Current California State Veterinary License.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
- Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, etc.) strongly preferred.
