Licensed Speech Language Pathologist

Essential Qualifications
The Speech Language Pathologist must hold:
A valid, unrestricted license in their respective therapy discipline.
Compliance with educational standards required for licensure.
A valid driver's license in the state of employment.
Familiarity with regulations, procedures, and guidelines relevant to skilled nursing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and assess speech language pathology and audiology services, ensuring adherence to current state and federal regulations.
Coordinate and oversee the execution of therapy services based on physician directives and guidelines from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Monitor and report on key performance indicators for the speech language pathology and audiology department, collaborating with the rehabilitation director to address any necessary improvements.
Develop and maintain efficient processes for screening, evaluating, treating, and documenting care for residents.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss therapy progress and discharge planning for residents receiving speech language pathology services.
Ensure compliance with facility policies regarding documentation, billing, and coding for therapy services.
Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues through effective communication and engagement.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for therapy services, ensuring proper use and sanitation of equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
Uphold the dignity and rights of all residents, adhering to facility policies and state regulations.
Participate in safety drills and training sessions, contributing to the facility's emergency preparedness.
Commit to ongoing professional development and training as required by the facility.
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience and tact in all interactions.
Contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere, promoting effective communication and mutual respect.
