Job Summary

The Arkansas Department of Transportation seeks a highly skilled Investigative EEO Specialist to join our team. As an Investigative EEO Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating protected-class discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist in resolving complaints and grievances which allege discrimination.
  • Interview complainants and witnesses and analyze supporting documentation and evidence.
  • Research laws, rules, and regulations that may govern allegations.
  • Prepare written report of investigation with findings.
  • Protect the independence, neutrality, integrity and privacy of the investigation.
  • Provide advisory and consultative assistance to Department personnel in the interpretation and implementation of all policies and procedures pertaining to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO).
  • Prepare a variety of statistical and narrative reports.

Requirements

  • Education and experience: The educational equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, OR the educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school plus four years' experience in the civil rights, human resources, or related field.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of EEO issues, specifically Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Above average oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in writing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working conditions: Office environment. Occasional in-state travel.
  • Licenses, registrations and certifications: Valid driver's license.
