Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City. As a key member of our Community Services division, you will be responsible for transporting Head Start children and families to various services, including Diagnostic and Treatment Centers, Speech & Hearing Centers, and other health or social services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport Head Start children and families to needed services, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Facilitate the pick-up and distribution of supplies and commodities to Head Start Centers, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate transportation reports and logs, adhering to agency requirements and regulations.
  • Attend required driver training courses to stay up-to-date on the latest safety protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean and satisfactory manner, performing regular preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report any required repairs to the Maintenance Division, ensuring prompt attention to vehicle maintenance needs.
  • Ensure passengers adhere to vehicle laws, such as wearing seatbelts, and assist them as needed.
  • Immediately report any incidents or accidents involving passengers or vehicles to the appropriate Division Director.
  • Perform other Head Start duties as required to achieve the agency's mission and goals.
  • Participate in drug testing as required by the agency or funding source.
  • Travel frequently to offsite locations, representing the agency with professionalism and courtesy.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess qualities of integrity, honesty, and dependability.
  • Ability to relate to children in a pleasant but firm manner, with experience working with children in group settings.
  • Must be insurable and possess or be able to obtain an Oklahoma Driver's License, with a safe driving record.
  • Meet all applicable requirements established by state and funding sources, including fingerprinting.
  • Have no physical limitations that would preclude lifting supplies and materials.
  • Meet required Work Environment standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess personal liability insurance for own protection.
