About the Role

The MaineHealth Bright Bodies Program is seeking a Health Training Specialist to join our team. As a Health Training Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting, maintaining, and improving individual and community health by providing health coaching to patients across the MaineHealth service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based programs to participants in a virtual and in-person group setting.
  • Work under the supervision of a Project Manager to develop and implement health coaching programs.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals, including a nutrition specialist, behavioral health specialist, and project manager, to provide comprehensive health services.
  • Provide health coaching to patients and their families, focusing on behavior modification, physical activity, and nutrition education.
  • Lead and facilitate group activity classes using the Bright Bodies curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health education, public health, or a closely related field.
  • Certified Health and Wellness Coach preferred but not required.
  • Experience in nutrition and/or physical activity is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant research and practice in medical care, health education, individual behavior change, public policy, and community health.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to respond to diverse needs from patients, families, and employees.
