Position Overview:

The Advanced Practice Manager plays a pivotal role in the leadership structure, reporting directly to the Director or Administrative Director. This position collaborates closely with the Clinical Manager to strategize, design, and implement tailored care programs for both individual patients and broader populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for clinical excellence while serving as a consultant, educator, leader, and researcher to ensure high-quality nursing care and favorable patient outcomes.
  2. Guided by the American Nurses Association's standards, this role anchors nursing practices in evidence-based information and nurse-sensitive outcomes.
  3. Acts as a clinical consultant for the healthcare team, addressing both basic and advanced nursing practices within the designated area.
  4. Monitors and evaluates nursing practices to ensure alignment with national standards and evidence-based guidelines.
  5. Collaborates with the Clinical Manager to develop departmental quality plans and set goals that align with the hospital's initiatives.
  6. Strives for excellence in core measures, including compliance with The Joint Commission standards.
  7. Works with multidisciplinary teams to foster innovative programs and strengthen relationships that support sustainable improvements.
  8. Facilitates process enhancements in patient care through systematic assessments and evaluations.
  9. Conducts ongoing quality audits to identify trends and assist Clinical Managers with data-related issues.
  10. Promotes the use of current evidence among staff and guides them in implementing evidence-based practices.
  11. Initiates research projects to explore clinical issues and identifies opportunities for nursing research.
  12. Partners with the Clinical Manager in various HR activities, including interviewing and performance evaluations.
  13. Assesses and addresses the learning needs of nursing staff, ensuring compliance with required competencies.
  14. Acts as a change agent, promoting data-driven improvements and integrating new patient care technologies.
  15. Ensures adherence to regulatory standards through active engagement and coaching.

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Rhode Island or in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact. A Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Nursing are required, along with relevant clinical experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead in a diverse environment are essential.

This role demands a commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to conceptualize and implement quality nursing services effectively.
