Advanced Practice Manager Critical Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Manager to join our team at The Miriam Hospital. This role will be responsible for leading clinical excellence and quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with clinical managers to design and implement patient-specific and population-based programs of care, and ensuring compliance with national standards and evidence-based information.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with clinical managers to plan, design, and implement patient-specific and population-based programs of care.
- Lead clinical excellence and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with national standards and evidence-based information.
- Act as a clinical consultant/practitioner for all members of the healthcare team regarding basic, complex, and advanced nursing practice within assigned areas.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing practice to ensure it is consistent with national standards, evidence-based information, and nurse-sensitive outcomes.
- Develop and maintain expertise in the field to address questions and provide strategic direction for quality.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the Center for Professional Practice Development to ensure certification, competencies, ongoing education, and online education comply with ANA Standards for Nursing Professional Development.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing required (or within six months of completion) with relevant clinical experience.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and sensitivity to cultural diversity in each step of the care process.
- Strong interpersonal/negotiation/mediation skills and demonstrated effective leadership in an environment with culturally diverse needs and abilities of staff.
