Job Summary:

The Low Income Housing Institute is seeking a skilled Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential properties. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth management of our housing units, including staff supervision, training, and support. Your expertise in property management, landlord-tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations will be essential in maintaining compliance with funding requirements and promoting a positive living environment for our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train housing management staff to ensure they have the necessary tools and methodology to succeed in their roles.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote consistency and compliance with Fair Housing regulations.
  • Assume property maintenance oversight responsibilities, including ordering and approving repairs, inspecting the condition of the building, and scheduling maintenance.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of contracts with funders and ensure compliance with funder agreements.
  • Provide regular reports to LIHI Management staff regarding property management issues and provide feedback on improvements needed.

Requirements:

  • Four years of property management experience, preferably in low-income housing projects.
  • Excellent supervisory skills and a strong working knowledge of landlord-tenant and Fair Housing laws.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures, and project troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
