Systems Safety Expert

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Safety Engineer to support our team in El Segundo, CA. To be considered for this role, you must have a Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate ESOH risks identified by the government, contractors, or other stakeholders, prepare ESOH documents, and provide system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification.
- Document, perform, and execute changes to Government System Safety documents.
- Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and safety assessments, as well as advise the government team.
- Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with Program and Space Force guidance documents and prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation.
- Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for space vehicles.
- Prepare and support the System Safety elements of the space vehicle Space Flight Worthiness certification.
- Collaborate with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the Space Force.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Years' experience in systems engineering.
- Years' experience in Systems Safety engineering, to include System Safety Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures and working with System Safety military standards and regulations.
- Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders and customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable working and interfacing with diverse personnel and working in a dynamic team environment.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI is required to be considered for this role.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- BS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
- MS degree.
- Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP).
- Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working with military and DoD civilian clients.
- Experience and familiarity experience working on a government space systems program.
- Experience working on a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract.
- Active TS/SCI or higher.
