Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team at LinQuest Corporation. As a key member of our Systems Engineering & Integration team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our space communication systems.

Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating ESOH risks, preparing ESOH documents, and providing system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification. You will also be responsible for documenting, performing, and executing changes to Government System Safety documents.

As a System Safety Engineer, you will work closely with our government team, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate safety risks. You will also be responsible for preparing safety risk assessments and documents, including the Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for space vehicles.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in systems safety engineering. Responsibilities
  • Evaluate ESOH risks identified by the government, contractors, or other stakeholders
  • Prepare ESOH documents and provide system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification
  • Document, perform, and execute changes to Government System Safety documents
  • Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and safety assessments
  • Advise the government team on system safety matters
  • Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with MSEIT Program and Space Force guidance documents
  • Prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation
  • Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for space vehicles
  • Prepare and support the System Safety elements of the space vehicle Space Flight Worthiness certification
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 4+ years' experience in systems engineering
  • 1+ years' experience in Systems Safety engineering, to include System Safety Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures and working with System Safety military standards and regulations
  • Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders and customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working and interfacing with diverse personnel and working in a dynamic team environment
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required for the position
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science
  • MS degree
  • Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP)
  • Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs
  • Experience working with military and DoD civilian clients
  • Experience and familiarity experience working on a government space systems program
  • Experience working on a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
