Job Description:
As a Child Protective Services Conservatorship Specialist with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive cases from investigators and work with families, caregivers, and community resources to develop and implement plans to ensure the child's safety and well-being.

• Conduct home visits and assessments to identify the child's needs and develop strategies to address them.

• Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and other community resources to ensure the child receives necessary services and support.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with families, caregivers, and community resources to ensure the child's needs are met.

• Participate in court hearings and provide testimony to ensure the child's best interests are represented.

• Work with the department's attorney to prepare for contested-court hearings and trials.

• Provide support and guidance to families and caregivers to help them navigate the child welfare system and access necessary resources.

• Develop and implement plans to ensure the child's permanency, including reunification with the family, adoption, or other permanent living arrangements.

• Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure the child receives comprehensive services and support.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies related to child welfare and conservatorship.

• Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

• Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and well-being of children and families, and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure their needs are met.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience working in child welfare, social services, or a related field.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication.

• Strong knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and the child welfare system.

• Ability to work in a culturally sensitive and responsive manner, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
