Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Child Life Specialist PRN to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic activities and psychosocial care to pediatric and adolescent patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and develop individualized programs to promote understanding and coping with health care experiences.
  • Provide procedural, emotional, and bereavement support to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in patient discharge planning and provide recommendations for outpatient psychosocial care.
  • Manage a volunteer service program to support Child Life Program activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, or related field preferred.
  • Completion of a Child Life internship from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 120 days of hire.
