Disability Services Assistant

Lenoir-Rhyne University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support the Disability Services department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the accommodations they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate testing schedules among various academic programs and departments.
- Provide testing accommodations for students with disabilities, ensuring a smooth and inclusive testing experience.
- Proctor written and computer tests for a variety of campus programs, maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of integrity.
- Develop alternative text for students with disabilities, ordering materials as needed to support their academic success.
- Collect and analyze data for the Disability Services office, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Design and deliver workshops and training sessions for students with disabilities and faculty/staff, promoting awareness and understanding of disability-related issues.
- Share disability-related educational information on social media and across campus, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Current enrollment as a graduate student at Lenoir-Rhyne University; a Master's degree in counseling is preferred but not required.
- Availability to work during the day, with occasional Saturday or evening hours as needed.
- Knowledge of or interest in disabilities, with a willingness to work with a diverse population of students with varying needs.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and a sense of responsibility.
- Understanding of the importance of tuition remission and the value of this opportunity.
