Faculty Position at Coast Community College District

Coast Community College District is seeking a part-time instructor in sociology to teach courses in the social sciences department. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in sociology or a related field and experience teaching at the community college level. The instructor will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, creating a supportive learning environment, and assessing student learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Teach sociology courses, including introductory and advanced courses, as assigned by the department chair.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off-campus classes.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in sociology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience teaching at the community college level.
- Ability to teach a variety of sociology courses, including introductory and advanced courses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
Working Conditions
- Part-time, temporary position.
- Flexible scheduling, including day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off-campus classes.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
