Position Overview

The Purchasing Associate plays a crucial role in the procurement process, focusing on supplier identification, purchase order generation, and verification of received goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with suppliers and vendors on a daily basis to monitor the progress of outstanding orders and shipments.
  • Evaluate supplier performance against established KPIs and address any discrepancies or inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the Shipping & Receiving department to guarantee the prompt delivery and acceptance of materials and components, including those sourced externally.
  • Address shop requirements by procuring materials, maintenance supplies, and tools based on operational needs.
  • Distribute materials to ongoing projects within the shop.
  • Solicit quotes and manage external service requirements, ensuring effective coordination among vendors, the Quality department, sales, and Engineering.
  • Keep the manufacturing team informed about the status of incoming materials and follow up on delivery schedules.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and strong organizational capabilities are essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and adept at managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong research, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • A positive demeanor committed to supporting and assisting team members.
  • Ability to work with urgency and demonstrate self-motivation.
