Job Overview:


The Culinary Team Member is an essential part of our distinguished kitchen staff, bringing foundational culinary skills and a willingness to learn.

As a member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a basic understanding of cooking techniques and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Upon receiving guidance, you will prepare specific menu items using the appropriate ingredients and methods.

Additionally, you will assist with kitchen operations, including opening and closing tasks, under the direction of senior kitchen staff.

Your culinary abilities will be assessed through practical performance and tastings.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food in accordance with Omni standards and complete related tasks.

Demonstrate foundational culinary skills and the ability to manage assigned stations with minimal oversight.

Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.

Assist with opening and closing procedures as directed by senior chefs.

Proactively observe and learn from experienced cooks and chefs.

Maintain basic knife skills and knowledge of health and safety standards.

Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of kitchen equipment.

Set up workstations with necessary tools and supplies according to standards.

Accurately follow prep lists and recipes.

Initiate prep work for daily menu items and communicate any shortages to the kitchen team.

Keep service staff informed of menu item availability throughout service periods.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.

Review work status and follow up on necessary actions before concluding shifts.

Qualifications:
0-2 years of experience in a culinary role within a hotel or restaurant setting.

Effective communication skills in English with guests and team members.

Basic culinary knowledge and interest in food preparation.

Able to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Completion of necessary food safety certifications upon hire.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role require standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks.

Frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs and the ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills are essential.
