STV Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer - Rail Systems to join our team in Los Angeles, CA.

As a key member of our Transportation Group, you will be responsible for leading the design of railway infrastructures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, meeting quality standards, and adhering to project timelines and budgets.

Your role will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver efficient and sustainable rail solutions, including project planning, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, budget and schedule management, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements for railway infrastructure projects.
  • Developing designs for railway tracks, bridges, tunnels, stations, and associated structures using engineering principles and software tools.
  • Leading and providing guidance to ensure that rail projects comply with local, national, and international regulations, codes, and standards related to safety, accessibility, and environmental impact.
  • Helping to identify potential risks and challenges associated with railway projects and developing mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
  • Implementing QA/QC procedures to monitor the quality of materials, workmanship, and construction processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assisting project managers in monitoring project budgets and schedules, tracking expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and schedule optimization.
  • Communicating project progress, milestones, and issues to stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal team members.
  • Preparing engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation in accordance with organizational standards and client requirements.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in railway engineering, and incorporating innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a supportive and productive work environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of experience in railway engineering, with a focus on design, construction, and maintenance of rail infrastructure. Proficiency in engineering software such as MicroStation, InRail, Open Rail, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D is also required.
