Job Title: Designated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers

Alstom is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Designated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers to join our team. As a key member of our railway operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of locomotives and trains in specific areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to engineers and conductors to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Oversee the operation of locomotives and trains to ensure adherence to safety plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with safety, training, and compliance managers to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Manage employee performance and provide feedback to ensure optimal OTP and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Locomotive Engineer Certification.
  • Completed an approved GCOR Training Program in the last 3 years.
  • 2 years of experience as a supervisor for an FRA regulated railroad.
  • 7 years' experience as a railroad engineer for an FRA regulated railroad.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
  • Work prolonged periods on your feet in the shop environment or outdoors.
  • Occasional periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Other Requirements:
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License with a good driving record and no DUIs within the last 3 years.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, including a drug test.
  • Able to work 24/7.

Alstom is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
