Assistant Retail Store Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Retail Store Manager to join our team at ALDI. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for assisting the direct leader with supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform the direct leader of necessary adjustments
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations
  • Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • Communicate information and ensure store personnel adhere to inventory procedures and cash control policies
  • Ensure an appropriate resolution of operational customer concerns
  • Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
  • Maintain store cleanliness standards and proper store signage
  • Assist with achieving store payroll and total loss budget
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the team
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Prior management experience preferred
