Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist IT staff with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

  • Support end-users with IT-related problems, both remotely and in-person.

  • Help maintain and update IT inventory and asset management records.

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of workstations, software, and other IT equipment.

  • Participate in software and system testing and assist with updates and patches.

  • Support data backup and recovery processes.

  • Provide assistance with network monitoring and maintenance tasks.

  • Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.

  • Support projects related to system upgrades, security improvements, and infrastructure enhancements.

  • Collaborate with team members to research and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field.

  • BASIC understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.

  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for hardware and software problems.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).

  • Familiarity with IT security practices and tools.

  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).

  • Previous internship or work experience in IT support or helpdesk is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the region. LabCorp offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k), paid time off, flexible time off, tuition reimbursement, and an employee stock purchase plan.
