BioSpace, Inc. is dedicated to advancing the field of precision medicine, aiming to significantly improve the lives of individuals affected by autoimmune disorders. We are seeking a seasoned expert in SEC compliance and technical accounting to join our team, playing a pivotal role in this essential function post-IPO. This position will report directly to the Director of SEC Compliance and will collaborate with various departments including finance, legal, stock administration, and senior leadership. The selected candidate will be tasked with the preparation of SEC submissions, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, as well as the development and evaluation of technical accounting documentation, stock-based compensation accounting, and related financial reporting and audit assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare SEC submissions, such as Forms 10-K and 10-Q, along with other necessary SEC documents, utilizing Toppan Merrill Bridge software.
  • Aid in the formulation and assessment of financial results press releases on Form 8-K and proxy statements.
  • Oversee quarterly reporting schedules, checklists, and supporting documentation files, including SOX control support.
  • Investigate technical accounting issues, create or review memos detailing conclusions of accounting treatments, and collaborate with accounting teams, external consultants, and auditors to finalize decisions.
  • Track, document, and implement new FASB pronouncements and SEC regulations to ensure continuous compliance and educate key stakeholders.
  • Engage in the accounting close process, including the preparation of stock-based compensation and other equity-related entries.
  • Lead special projects across departments and with external partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or equivalent certification with Big-4 experience required.
  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in audit, technical accounting, and SEC compliance.
  • Strong technical accounting and analytical capabilities.
  • Practical experience with Toppan Merrill Bridge or Workiva, including XBRL tagging, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build cross-functional relationships at all organizational levels, as well as with external parties such as auditors and legal counsel.
  • Experience in preparing stock-based compensation entries and related valuation assumptions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, with experience in NetSuite and Morgan Stanley Equity Edge preferred.
