Nashville International Airport Plumber

The Airport Plumber is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of plumbing systems at Nashville International Airport. This includes diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing, irrigation systems, water and gas piping, fire suppression systems, mechanical systems, wastewater treatment systems, and motorized drive assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with service, warranty, and maintenance standards.
- Inspect new plumbing installations, including water systems, hot water heaters, circulating pumps, and electrical heating units.
- Plan, coordinate, and install plumbing and piping projects with minimal supervision.
- Perform daily repairs of plumbing and piping systems, such as drainage waste and vents, non-potable water systems, and underground utilities.
- Read blueprints to determine proper operations of systems and provide feedback during design and construction phases.
- Practice safety rules related to plumbing.
- Unclog and clean sanitary and storm drains; unclog and clean basin traps and water closets.
- Service and repair circulating pumps and tricherators; sewage and storm water lift stations.
- Adjust, repair/replace flushometer, vacuum breakers, leaking pipes, clean and repair sump pumps.
- Repair and replace faucets, valves, check valves, etc.
- Inspect and assist with maintenance and testing of fire protection systems.
- Complete emergency shutoff of campus irrigation systems.
- Assist in the cleaning of drain systems and sewer channels.
- Operate sewer vac and jetter.
- Perform soldering, brazing, and welding.
- Replace and repair paper towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensing systems.
- Perform maintenance on oil water separators.
- Test and repair backflow preventors.
- Assist others with dispatch activities on third shift, including monitoring dispatch phone, signing out keys, and processing forms needed by contractors.
- Establish working relationships and rapport with customers and team members.
- Maintain regular and on-time attendance.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Support MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence (RISE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years related experience.
- Valid Class D Driver's License.
- Journeyman plumbing certification or equivalent.
