Electrician - Airport Lighting and Mechanical Systems Specialist

As a key member of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority team, the Electrician will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the airport's lighting and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing electrical systems, including lighting and mechanical components, in airport and airfield facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, modify, and repair lighting and mechanical systems in airport and airfield facilities.
- Assist in inspecting maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical facilities and develop improvements to such facilities.
- Install complete electrical systems, including pipe, wire, and terminations.
- Operate aerial lifts, boom trucks, tow motors, fork trucks, scissors lifts, and other heavy machinery.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and cut sheets of systems and facilities.
- Maintain and repair motors, relays, circuit breakers, and other electrical components of the lighting and mechanical systems.
- Work on 24-volt systems and circuit boards.
- Lay out projects, complete material take-off, and support projects from start to finish.
- Work with live electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
- Conduct megger tests on cables to check insulation life.
- Perform electronic repairs and installations.
- Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
- Perform new installations of high and low voltage electrical systems, such as transformers, sub panels, and network racks.
- Repair, maintain, and monitor backup generator systems and transfer switches.
- Work on a rotation for being on-call 24/7.
- Follow all safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain regular and on-time attendance.
- Support the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence (RISE).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Postsecondary apprenticeship or related training.
- 2-4 years of electrical or related experience.
- Valid CLASS D Driver's License.
- Journeyman Electrician certification or 4 years of electrical Military training.
- Airfield Operations Area (AOA) Driving License within 180 days upon hire.
