The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating services and programming for students with disabilities, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure compliance with state and federal disability laws. This includes facilitating student interviews, implementing academic accommodations, and providing guidance to students with disabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating student interviews to initiate accommodations and eligibility processes
  • Implementing academic accommodations in a timely and effective manner
  • Providing academic guidance to students with disabilities
  • Supporting the acquisition and production of alternative format textbooks and teaching materials
  • Providing guidance on accessibility of digital media and assistive technology
  • Collaborating with faculty members to address accessibility concerns
  • Maintaining detailed records of student contacts and decision-making
  • Representing the department at campus and community meetings

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Community Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field, and at least three years of related experience. Preference will be given to candidates with Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification and experience in direct service roles for persons with disabilities in higher education settings.
