Position Overview:
Aptive Resources is on the lookout for skilled Medical/Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs) to deliver comprehensive care to patients undergoing acute medical or surgical procedures. The RN will operate both autonomously and under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or designated personnel, employing a holistic approach to patient care.

Work Schedule:
Nurses will be expected to work shifts of eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) hours, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
  • Evaluate and attend to patients with a variety of physical and psychological conditions.
  • Administer care to patients requiring special precautions, including those in isolation.
  • Manage patient care assignments for a designated group, ensuring comprehensive support.
  • Dispense medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous) and blood products.
  • Execute complex wound dressing care and maintenance.
  • Provide care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and those under investigation for the virus.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Duties:
  • Insert and maintain peripheral intravenous lines.
  • Oversee central lines for intravenous fluid administration.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and bedside testing.
  • Deliver emergency care as required.
Documentation and Communication:
  • Confirm physician orders.
  • Accurately document and complete care in accordance with facility and unit policies.
  • Provide psychological support to patients as necessary.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Engage closely with the healthcare team to address patient care needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.
  • Certification: Current CPR/BLS certification accredited by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: At least three (3) years of recent experience in an acute care, medical/surgical unit within an urban, academic medical center, excluding agency assignments. Must have worked within the last six (6) months in similar settings.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred, although an associate degree or diploma with valid licensure and current experience is acceptable.
  • Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by the appropriate state-accrediting agency and recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or ANCC.
  • Strong clinical skills in acute care environments.
  • Proficient in the insertion and maintenance of peripheral and central lines.
  • Skilled in medication administration and complex wound care.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Able to provide psychological support and manage emergency situations effectively.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on collaborative patient care.
  • Capable of completing and passing any required government background checks.
