We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Acute Care facility, which is a fast-paced, independent 50-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC). Our team provides comprehensive care to patients with a variety of critical conditions, including respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and oncological issues. Many patients require specialized education and airway management. Our facility is equipped with advanced services such as wound management, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and left ventricular assist device support, all aimed at helping patients achieve their highest level of recovery. We are proud to be Disease Specific Certified by the Joint Commission in respiratory care, wound care, and acquired brain injury management. Our interdisciplinary approach includes on-site collaboration among physicians, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, respiratory therapists, wound care experts, and case managers.
Key Statistics
- Average Daily Census: 40 patients
- Average Length of Stay: 30 days
- Patient to Nurse Ratio: 1:5
- Patient Care Technician Ratio: 1:6
- Charge Nurse on all shifts, including weekends
- House Supervisor available during night shifts
- Clinical Educator on-site
- Onsite Radiology and Procedure Room
- Medical Doctor present on-site
Job Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse in Acute Care will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the specific needs of our patient population. This role requires the ability to apply the Synergy Model for Care effectively, personalizing care for each patient and their family while serving as a resource for colleagues and a strong advocate for patients.
The RN will:
1. Communicate consistently and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
2. Utilize developed assessment skills to evaluate the impact of nursing interventions on patient outcomes.
3. Document the nursing process accurately in the appropriate formats, including electronic records and clinical pathways.
4. Incorporate patient and family input into care planning and manage time efficiently while applying the AACN Synergy Model in practice.
5. Engage in continuous professional development to achieve required points and contact hours as defined in the clinical lattice point system.
