Eligibility: This role is exclusively for upperclassmen. Freshmen are not permitted to apply for departmental roles.

Work Schedule: Expected commitment is between 10 to 20 hours weekly.

Location & Hours: Work will be conducted on campus, primarily in Mills Hall 110, with hours ranging from 8 am to 10 pm, Monday through Friday. Be prepared for events that may extend into the evening or occur on weekends.

Position Requirements:
  • Previous experience in audio/visual operations is essential.
  • Experience in music or electronics is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and event schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work during evenings and weekends for events.
  • Capability to lift heavy equipment and work in diverse settings.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the departmental events calendar.
  • Provide sound mixing for concerts, conferences, and various student activities.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Chief Information Officer or AV Events Specialist, including inventory management, cable soldering, audio/video editing, and archiving recordings.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and track hours worked.
  • Record events with a focus on audio/video quality.
  • Set up lighting for different events and perform additional tasks as directed by the Chief Information Officer or AV Events Specialist.

  • Communication: Effectively express and exchange ideas verbally to convey information and instructions accurately.
