We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Forwarding Coordinator to join our team at FedEx Logistics. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring timely delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and their front-line personnel.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to transportation.
  • Problem-Solving: Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure that agents exceed customer service requirements.
  • Financial Management: Resolve banking and letter of credit problems, advise customers on payment terms, and ensure accurate invoicing and vendor payments.
  • Data Management: Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files and develop rates or provide quotes for the movement of freight.
  • Reporting: Generate special manual reports to meet customer needs and ensure all communication with internal and external customers is updated timely.
  • Freight Forwarding Functions: Coordinate customer booking requests, set up new shippers, assist with restricted articles submission, and complete import/export documentation in accordance with international trade regulations.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients related to billing disputes, status of shipments, developing new lanes, improving service, and dispatch carriers to pick up at company locations and customer-related distribution centers.
  • Tracking and Tracing: Track and trace functions, including entry of all milestones and exceptions, and work all iServe cases.
  • Specialized Services: Coordinate oversized and out of gauge shipments, handle Hazmat shipments, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service, organizational, and communication (written/oral) skills.
  • Logistics Knowledge: Knowledge of freight forwarding or logistics required.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of air export regulations, banking requirements for international trade, regulations regarding dangerous goods shipping & foreign regulations, and knowledge of regulations for import/export related to DOT.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills for conversions to metric and currency evaluations.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in freight forwarding or logistics or work/field experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: One (1) year of experience in freight forwarding.
