Job Summary

The Spanish Instructor will be responsible for creating rigorous, objective-driven, arts-infused units, lessons, and performance tasks using state standards, course overviews, and planning templates. The ideal candidate will differentiate instruction for individual students based on their unique learning needs, provide ongoing and timely feedback, and maintain a safe and orderly environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state standards and promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Use technology to enhance instruction and provide opportunities for students to achieve mastery.
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress towards meeting big goals and develop standards-based performances tasks and curricular assessment.
  • Maintain a focused environment of fairness and respect that encourages students to take risks and strive to reach goals.
  • Supervise students to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major or minor in Spanish.
  • Current MSDE teaching license in Secondary Spanish Language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in Spanish Language Arts.
  • Two years of experience teaching in an urban setting.
