Essential Qualifications
  • No formal education required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, customers, and management.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to engage with a diverse workforce. Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are necessary.
Main Responsibilities
  • Handles all donations with care and respect.
  • Sorts incoming donations and retail items into designated categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and disposal, following established protocols.
  • Evaluates donated and retail items to assess quality, identifying suitable items for the sales floor, recycling, and online sales.
  • Identifies and prices items using the AMI pricing software guidelines.
  • Maintains high standards of quality and efficiency while working diligently.
  • Stocks, organizes, and ensures cleanliness throughout the store area in accordance with standards.
  • Provides excellent customer service, including greetings, assistance, and appreciation to customers, donors, and phone inquiries. Upholds cleanliness standards by performing tasks such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Establishes and nurtures positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership, collaborating cross-functionally to enhance communication.
  • Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to maintaining a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping walkways clear.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times, in line with MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
  • Safeguards organizational assets, including cash, donations, and retail items, from damage or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of assets.
  • Complies with all MERS/Goodwill policies, retail procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
