Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at HealthAlliance Hospital. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing patients with speech and language disorders, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to improve communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and assess patients with speech and language disorders, including conducting interviews, reviewing medical charts, and administering formal and informal tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to improve communication skills, including establishing measurable goals and re-assessing patient progress.
  • Administer treatment in a professional and organized manner, adhering to department and hospital policies, best practice standards, and physician protocols.
  • Complete all documentation, including evaluations, re-assessments, daily notes, and discharge summaries, within established timeframes and according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide written and verbal communication to referral sources, insurance companies, patients, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working rapport with patients, peers, and referral sources.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to ensure quality care and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent, as determined by the NYS Education Department.
  • Completion of clinical training required by the ST Program and NYS licensure or limited license.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA.
