Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at WMCHealth. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with speech and language disorders, as well as providing counseling and education to individuals and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to assess their communication skills and develop treatment plans to improve their speech and language abilities.
  • Administer treatment in a professional and organized manner, adhering to all department and hospital policies, best practice standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Document patient progress and communicate with referral sources, insurance companies, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to performance improvement activities to ensure quality care.
  • Maintain a productive caseload and utilize non-scheduled treatment time efficiently.
  • Provide training to healthcare providers and participate in educational in-services and community programs.
  • Perform modified barium swallow studies and interpret results.
  • Maintain department equipment and treatment areas in a clean and safe manner.
  • Provide accurate billing information and maintain compliance with insurance guidelines.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology or its equivalent.
  • Completion of clinical training required by ST Program and NYS licensure or limited license.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA.
