Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at HealthAlliance Hospital. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with speech and language disorders, as well as providing education and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with speech and language disorders to develop a treatment plan that addresses their specific needs.
  • Administer treatment in an organized and professional manner, adhering to all department and hospital policies, best practice standards, and NYS practice acts.
  • Complete all documentation, including evaluations, re-assessments, daily notes, and discharge summaries, within established timeframes and according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and discharge planning.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to ensure quality care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a productive caseload and utilize non-scheduled treatment time efficiently.
  • Participate in educational in-services, meetings, and community programs to stay current with best practices and advance your professional development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or its equivalent, as determined by the NYS education department.
  • Completion of clinical training required by ST Program and NYS licensure or limited license.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in the profession of speech-language pathology, including work with infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children, as well as adult populations, including stroke and dysphagia.
