About the Role

Cleveland Clinic's G90 Urology/Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a key member of our unit, you will provide direct nursing care to post-operative urology and overflow surgical patients, focusing on pain control, return of bowel and bladder function, DVT prevention, and ambulation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating discharge plans, and monitoring patients' conditions.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring effective pain management and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, ensuring timely and safe transitions to home or other care settings.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Two years of recent nursing experience, with consideration given to military RN experience.
  • Successful completion of prescreen competency assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
