Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced public relations professional to oversee communications initiatives for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to innovative youth category leaders. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of media relations, excellent communication skills, and a passion for storytelling. This role includes strategic development of public relations initiatives and tactics, media pitching, daily communication with clients, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of all services, and working with direct reports as well as account teams to maintain the client's strategy throughout all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies that align with client objectives and enhance brand reputation. Think creatively and innovatively to develop custom solutions for client work.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate, maintain and leverage relationships with key media contacts; manage press outreach, pitches, and media events. Pro-active approach to outreach.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of strategic messaging, press releases, and other media materials that effectively communicate client messages.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of PR professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and driving professional development.
  • Campaign Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PR strategies into broader marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Measurement and Reporting: Analyze PR campaign effectiveness and prepare reports for clients that demonstrate ROI and key performance metrics.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, ensuring the agency remains at the forefront of PR innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in public relations, with a focus on agency and / or brand experience preferred.
  • Action Sports / Outdoor Sports experience required.
  • Proven track record of successful PR campaigns and media placements.
  • Strong network of media contacts and an understanding of the media landscape.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute with precision.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Passionate and looking to make an impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (including weekends) for client meetings, media meetings & pitching as well as for events.
