Job Summary

The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring that all aspects of housekeeping, including rooms, public areas, and laundry, meet the highest standards of cleanliness and quality. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a team to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and direct the Housekeeping Department, including rooms, public areas, and laundry, to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all areas of the hotel meet the highest standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and develop a team of housekeeping staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent service.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with all departments, including front office, food and beverage, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and high-quality service.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or problems that may arise in the Housekeeping Department, including guest complaints and equipment malfunctions.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all housekeeping staff are aware of and comply with hotel policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, including supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
