OSP Construction Inspection Technician

FiberComm, an ImOn Company, is seeking a skilled OSP Construction Inspection Technician to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our fiber network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate construction projects to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify contractor compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Monitor utility locators to ensure accurate and safe construction practices.
  • Prepare and submit weekly production reports to track project progress.
  • Perform route inspections to verify pole line and buried route integrity.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and reviews to improve construction management systems.
  • Respond to emergency and outage situations to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Ensure all work adheres to OSHA guidelines and prioritizes customer and public safety.
Requirements:
  • 1+ year(s) experience in equipment installation, cable splicing, line work, installation, and repair.
  • Ability to accommodate after-hours work as required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Iowa Driver License with a driving record that allows employee to be insured by ImOn's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to read and interpret splice documentation, plant diagrams, and perform field change orders.
  • Ability to operate test equipment such as VOM, test sets, OTDR, and Fusion splicers, and Power Source Meters.
  • Ability to operate power equipment such as generators, blowers, and hydraulic aerial lifts mounted on trucks.
  • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of fiber.
  • Ability to comply with all Company implemented safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code desired.
  • General understanding of Aerial and Underground Telecommunications Construction is desired, including knowledge of constructing aerial network fiber (FTTX), pole frames, strand, lashing, gigging cable, easements, and ROW, boring specifications, structure placement.
